Welcome to Chiang Mai

After our beach potato  session, Jim and I headed north to check out the backpackers haven that is Chiang Mai. We spent a week there and easily could have spent longer given all the things  you can get up to. Here's  a brief taste to get started.

We arrived later in the evening after a harrowing minibus, ferry, minibus, flight, taxi adventure from Koh Chang,  and we were starving. Our hostel recommended we eat at the night market. We ate here often  enough I started to refer to it as  "our" market.

Here you can see one of our first tastes of the north, pork with rice (and hard boiled egg, egg with everything here in Thailand )

For 40 baht, or about 1USD, that tasty plate came from this street stall, where a woman in a stylish cowboy hat spends the whole night clevering  pig for our tastebud's enjoyment.
